The Joseph Smith Forum FAQs are a compilation of prophets statements and scripture on some of the most vital questions of our day. The compilation seeks to let the Lord speak through His prophets without opinion and conjecture. Pure scripture and revelation as opposed to the philosophies of men mingled with scripture. Great care has been taken to assure that very little commentary has been added. When commentary is provided, it is set off with blue text to ensure that the reader can easily distinguish the words of prophets and scripture.

We live in possibly the most deceptive time in the history of the earth. It has been prophesied that even the very elect are and will be deceived in our day. Satan’s arguments are more articulate and more cleverly advanced than possibly at any other time. The scriptures teach where our foundation for truth should be laid.

[Alma] commanded them that they should teach nothing save it were the things which he had taught, and which had been spoken by the mouth of the holy prophets. (Mosiah 18:19)

let them journey . . . preaching the word by the way, saying none other things than that which the prophets and apostles have written, and that which is taught them by the Comforter through the prayer of faith. (D&C 52:9)

These FAQs are focused on countering the deceptions of the adversary using scriptures and the inspired words of latter-day prophets. The Word of God is sharper than a two-edged sword, cutting through the philosophies of men that have been mingled with scripture.

Some may consider these subjects controversial, but the most critical issues to the Lord and to our salvation are where the adversary attacks with his greatest fury. The Devil knows very well what must be done to thwart the Work of God and advances his greatest deceptions in these areas. These deceptions, though clever, when placed side-by-side with statements by the inspired prophets of God and scripture are exposed. When light shines upon darkness, the darkness flees.
